From the 5th floor with a balcony! Beautiful rooms, well put together, very clean. Bed is so comfortable with cotton sheets. Highly recommend! Food at Teresa’s steakhouse is tasty too (although we’ve only had breakfast so far).

⸻ Good morning! I want to share my experience staying at the Legacy Resort Hotel & Spa during my recent trip to San Diego for the Winter Fancy Fair, part of the Fancy Food Show. At first, I didn’t even realize I had been to San Diego many, many years ago, so technically this was my first real visit. I honestly had no idea where to stay or how far things would be from the Convention Center — even though you can check distances on Google Maps, ChatGPT, or any other online tool. What maps can’t tell you is how convenient or inconvenient a location feels in real life. I took the risk of staying at this hotel based on the strong 5-star reviews I read online, even though most of the hotels I saw were within walking distance of the Convention Center. I wasn’t sure how easy or hard it would be to get an Uber, but I decided to take the chance — and I’m really glad I did. Another factor that motivated my choice was the photos of the rooms and beds. They looked impeccably made and absolutely gorgeous. The moment I stepped into the hotel, the vibe and energy were amazing. The lobby has huge, very high ceilings, and the architecture feels quite different from your typical cookie-cutter hotel. You can tell there was a strong vision behind the design. (Interestingly, the larger Legacy International Center project — which this hotel is part of — was originally developed by American televangelist Morris Cerullo, so there’s a unique legacy behind the place). Now, let’s be honest: it’s not a top-top-top five-star brand property, and some areas — like the pool — show their age in the finishings. A renovation would definitely take this hotel to the next level. But despite that, I was very comfortable here. The rooms were as expected — or honestly, even better. They’re spacious: a generously sized bedroom, a large bathroom, and a big area around the sink between the two. The shower was great, and the amenities worked well. They even have a coffee-making machine in the room (not espresso, but it makes good coffee — which I truly appreciate). I also want to highlight the restaurant experience. I had the gnocchi, and my friend ordered it every night for four nights straight. One night she also had the branzino — and the food was consistently top-notch. At one point, the chef came out to speak with us. He was humble, professional, and genuinely nice. I highly recommend dining here. If I come back to San Diego for another event at the Convention Center, this is absolutely where I would stay again. Thank you!

The rooms were clean, beautiful lobby created Theresa‘s Italian restaurant. The food was really good. I called room service for some ice where the gentleman brought the ice he saw we needed for ice chest. He took the whole ice chest, filled with ice and brought back to our room. The people are very friendly location is very convenient to get to SeaWorld downtown.

I had such a great stay at the Legacy Resort & Spa in San Diego. The location is perfect — right in Mission Valley so you’re close to everything (Balboa Park, the beach, downtown). Super convenient whether you want to explore or just hang by the pool. The rooms are modern, spotless, and super comfy — I slept like a rock. The spa and pool are definitely the highlights though. Between the steam room, sauna, hot tub, and the resort-style pool with cabanas, it’s easy to just relax and forget about everything else. Food was another win — the on-site restaurants are way better than your average hotel dining. Theresa’s (the steakhouse) was amazing, and the service all around was warm and attentive. Every staff interaction I had felt genuine, which makes such a difference. Honestly, it felt like the perfect mix of luxury and laid-back. I left feeling recharged and would 100% come back again. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a San Diego getaway.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Experience at the Legacy Resort Hotel! My organization recently hosted our Christmas party at the Legacy Resort Hotel, and I can’t say enough great things about the experience. We had about 75 guests for dinner and dancing, and everything went beautifully from start to finish. A special shout-out to Jerry, the Operations Manager, whose service and attention to detail were truly exceptional. He made sure everything ran smoothly and was incredibly responsive and supportive throughout the planning and the event itself. Our staff absolutely loved the food and the venue. The atmosphere was perfect for celebrating, and the setup was ideal for both dining and dancing. Several of us also stayed overnight, and the rooms were spacious, clean, and modern, which was a wonderful bonus after a long night of celebrating. If you’re looking for a venue that delivers excellent service, great food, and a beautiful space for events, I highly recommend the Legacy Resort Hotel. We’re so grateful for such a memorable holiday celebration and look forward to future events here!

With so many hotels in San Diego, it can feel overwhelming to pick the right one, but I’m so glad I chose Legacy Resort Hotel & Spa. From start to finish, my stay was excellent. The hotel is spotless, comfortable, and has a welcoming atmosphere. Location is perfect as well A special shoutout to Casey at the front desk! She went above and beyond to make sure my stay was smooth. There was a small hiccup with my room before check-in, but she kept me updated with calls the day before and the morning of my arrival. When we arrived, the room wasn’t ready yet, but the staff quickly made it right, and the wait wasn’t long at all. Thanks to their professionalism and hospitality, I left very happy with my choice. I’ll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to San Diego.

We were at the Legacy for a conference. The room was great! Spacious, new, comfortable. The facility was surprisingly large and varied. There is the hotel proper and then a library, conference areas, and auditorium that features a wonderful media program. We ate at Therese's several times, a breakfast a dinner and snacks. Our solo server took care of our group is about 20 wonderfully on a breakfast day! The Therese's is a nice restaurant, good menu, good food. The latin seems strange at first but turned out to be nicely located, both for our conference AND for our several forays into downtown San Diego. Prices were very competitive!!

Updated: I was offered the opportunity to return to the property for a second time and had a much better experience. The beds were super comfortable in this particular room and we had a view of the pool and spa area. The room was clean and service was great every time we encountered someone. Thank you Waneda and staff. I really didn’t want to leave 3 stars but I waited a few days for the manager to call after departure and still nothing. I traveled to San Diego from out of state for a stem cell transplant consultation so rest and relaxation were the goal. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful hotel, mainly on the surface. The true legacy by the owner is a story worth sharing over and over but the experience left us exhausted from little sleep and really wanting a better customer service experience. Pros… Beautiful construction and design. Soft and welcoming fabrics and materials in the lobby and dining areas. Multiple layers of stone and lighting make it incredibly welcoming. The checkin process was fairly smooth. The restaurant Theresa’s is a true gem, great service, food was excellent and the drinks were strong. The pool and spa area is nicely appointed with super comfortable loungers and cabanas. The grounds are inspiring as you walk through and experience pillars with bible verses on them. I’m a Christian and found it to be very encouraging and uplifting, especially in the midst of what I was there for. Cons…. There’s unfortunately a long list… we made the front desk aware and no one ever came. And again, left this list for the manager (who wasn’t available at check out). Really uncomfortably hard beds. I’ve never slept on something more uncomfortable. The pillows were pretty awesome but didn’t make up for 3 pretty sleepless nights. The AC makes a lot of noise… like a hissing gurgling sound. The phone did not work our entire stay. Mold & mildew build up in the shower tracks and grout. Major filth on the exhaust fan. Clogged sink. Toilet seat not seated properly, kept sliding when you’d sit. The amount of technology throughout can be challenging if you’re older and not used to it. The halls are pretty stuffy with no air flow. Overall I just could not recommend staying here myself. The bed alone was a major bummer and if you can’t sleep comfortably at a hotel, what are you even there for?
